The reality is that life is challenging. We all go through difficult times and transitions in our lives. We all experience periods of sadness, depression, loneliness, worry, anxiety, relational conflict, and internal stress.
Our life journey is complex, and sometimes the support of a friend or family member is just not enough – the people close to you may not be objective or have the skills necessary to help you get deep into an issue.
Counseling can help us acknowledge our experiences and bear reality to them. Seeking out the support of a professional counselor when we are struggling does not mean we are “weak.” On the contrary, it takes a lot of courage to be willing to genuinely examine oneself. Anyone can benefit from therapy; it is not only for those who are currently having a rough time or in crisis.
Counseling is self-care and it is for everyone.
